I finally retired from work on September 1st, 2014. We took our Motor Home to Tucson, Arizona in January (2015) and are now wintering here. I have set up a make-shift studio at our RV spot in a wonderful RV Resort known as “The Voyager.”
I am hoping to get busy painting now that I have more time. There is an art room here at the resort that allows others of like mind to paint together and share ideas. I usually get something started there then bring it back to my shed to work on. I will be posting my work (and hopefully progress) as I go along.
I began an on line mentoring program with Phil Starke in December of 2013. He is a wonderful artist and teacher. He provides a weekly lesson with a 30-45 minute demo each week, on Sunday. There is a weekly assignment and when you send it in (usually on Thursday’s, however you can send it in whenever you can get to it) he will critique and demo right on top of your submittal, showing how he would correct and enhance it.

In the past I have taken lessons from world-renowned artists and they have consistently advised purchasing art supplies from Jerry’s.
We spent the last day watching another demo by Gabor. He painted the photo we all tried our hands at yesterday. Then we took some of the learning’s from the demo and tweaked our paintings a little.
Here is my painting after making a few more tweaks:
